The power, around 380 HP, of the Ford Windsor engine here in "Strocker" 347 Ci is transmitted to the wheels via a Ford Top Loader 4-speed manual gearbox with SFI Approved Lakewood steel clutch.
This Cobra is in very good condition and has been expertly appraised. Its condition is sure to win over enthusiasts of gleaming vintage cars. As for collectors, they will appreciate the technical fidelity of this replica, as its assembly is close to that of the original Shelby Cobras.
Roadsters from American manufacturer CONTEMPORARY CLASSIC are among the most faithful replicas of the legendary Cobra 427, produced by Carol Shelby from 1963 to 66.
Today, the original mythical cobra costs between €1 and €4 million. With only 1000 original cobras produced, it's clear that vintage cobras are and will remain out of reach for many collectors.
That's why, from the late 70's and early 80's onwards, small manufacturers started making replicas.
Some brands have distanced themselves from the original model. Conversely, manufacturers such as E.R.A and CONTEMPORARY CLASSIC have sought to stick as closely as possible to Carroll Shelby's real Cobra.
A limited production run of just 1,400 units, with top-quality materials and fittings, the brand died out at the end of the 90's, freezing forever the rarity of the CONTEMPORARY CLASSIC chassis in round tubes 4" (10 cm) in diameter, identical to the original model.
